Skilled Mobile Auto Electrician Department Service Reporting to Service Manager

Due to company expansion a number of roles have opened for a mobile skilled auto electrician.

Main duties and responsibilities

You will be supplied with a company vehicle (usually a van), mobile phone and tablet to travel to our customer sites throughout the U.K to carry out the following tasks…

The Principal Duties of this role are as follows

  • Installations of specialist aftermarket equipment into vehicles – Usually Safety products in to Commercial vehicles – Cameras, Proximity sensors, Lighting, Power management and related equipment

  • General automotive electrical repairs and diagnostics – Fault finding and repair of HGV’s, LCV’’s and EV’s.

  • Mobile service support – Supporting serviceable items on HGV’s, LCV’s and cars Particularly on Emergency service vehciles – Air conditioning, Heating, Generators, Periodic testing of inverters etc

Candidate requirements are as follows

  • Experience in installing aftermarket equipment into new and used vehicles

  • Knowledge in using various diagnostic equipment advantageous

  • Must have good knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and be able to diagnose basic and complex faults

  • City and Guilds or NVQ Qualifications will be very useful however having worked in the industry for a number of years can replace this credential.

  • Someone that is a qualified Master tech would be suitable

Secondary duties and responsibilities

  • Talking to customers

  • Liaising with Service department

  • Admin – Recording of Time, parts and labour

Details

1. Hours: std 40 hours per week Monday to Friday

  • Pay: TBC depending on experience

  • Overtime is paid at 1.5 x time and 2 x time (Currently lots available)

  • Other Benefits – Vehicle can be used for reasonable personal use, Phone, Sick pay, Extra 1 weeks holiday per year etc.

Workshop based (Bristol, Exeter or Swindon) Department Service Reporting to Service Manager

Due to company expansion a number of roles have opened for semi-skilled to fully Skilled Auto Electrician

The role is workshop based at any of our site in Bristol, Exeter or Swindon.

The Principal Duties of this role are as follows

  • Installation of aftermarket equipment in to cars and LCV’s. Usually Police, Ambulance and Fire.

  • Diagnosis and repair of electrical faults on cars and commercial vehicles

  • Service/repair of auxiliary heating and air conditioning

  • Candidate requirements are as follows

  • Experience in installing aftermarket equipment into new and used vehicles

  • Knowledge in using various diagnostic equipment advantageous

  • Must have good knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and be able to diagnose basic and complex faults

  • City and Guilds or NVQ Qualifications will be very useful however having worked in the industry for a number of years can replace this credential.
